Our mission is to empower athletes and sport stakeholders to reach holistic performance excellence in sport. These include sport organizations, leaders, educators, coaches, parents, officials, and healthcare practitioners.
In Ancient Greece, sport, most notably the Olympic Games, was a social and cultural highlight for 12 centuries. It provided a platform for performance excellence and fun for everyone.
The Ancient Greeks also recognized the significance of balancing performance excellence with a culture that valued effort, health, and fun for all citizens.
This philosophy carried into the first Olympic Charter (1908), which emphasized encouraging effort, persevering human dignity, and fostering harmony. More than a century later, these core values remain central to the modern-day Olympic Movement, and sport in general. Today, sport continues to serve as a catalyst for personal excellence and a force for positive global change.
At Áthlima Sport, we use research-informed approaches to connect sport participants with the original spirit of sport – performance excellence and fun – by nurturing joy in working hard and positive coaching.
Born from the desire to leverage our 60+ years of collective expertise and experiences in sport as athletes, parents, coaches, officials, educators, researchers, and applied practitioners, Áthlima Sport is committed to making sport fun and safe for all its participants.
Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand.
